WHO IS DOING THE COUNSELING?

The program is staffed by interns in SMU’s Master of Science Counseling Education Program, which prepares individuals for professional practice as counselors. The graduate students are under the supervision of doctoral-level licensed university faculty and staff.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I RECEIVE COUNSELING?

Daytime and evening appointments are available. All sessions are held at Resource Center Dallas, 2701 Reagan St. at Brown in Oak Lawn.

WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?

The first appointment is called the initial intake, and takes about two hours. You will complete paperwork, a general assessment, and meet with an intake counselor.

During the intake, the counselor will determine if our program is the appropriate resource for you at this time. If so, an appointment will be made with a counseling student for continued counseling services. There is no charge for the initial intake visit. We do not take insurance.

HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION?

To find out more about the program, or to schedule an appointment, call Resource Center Dallas: 214-393-3680.

Resource Center Dallas names Cece Cox as the Center's new executive director.
